  • January 25th 2013: Since 25th of January 2013, the new Open Source reference implementation, commonly referred to as OpenNCP that connects the national eHealth system of a Participating Nation to the epSOS network is available.

  • June 12th 2012:One month after entering into operational mode for real-world exchanges of patient summaries, epSOS was back at the European Connectathon to introduce new member nations to the expanding network.

  • April 13th 2012:On the 13th of April 2012, the epSOS piloting phase has started, testing the technical, semantic and legal solutions that have been developed in the epSOS project in a real-life environment over a one-year period. Over more than three years, the members of the epSOS project, cofunded by the European Commission, have invested hours of hard work as well as enthusiasm into the development of feasible cross-border eHealth services, addressing technical, semantic and legal interoperability challenges. These tremendous efforts have now finally culminated in the large scale pilot entering into operational mode.

  • September 29th 2011:Announcement of the "epSOS pilots setting sail" event: The epSOS consortium is pleased to offer to a wide audience of delegates from governments, industries, healthcare and research organisations the results achieved so far and demonstrate how epSOS got to setting sail of its pilots. The "epSOS pilots setting sail" open event will take place on the 10th of November, 2011 in Athens in the framework of a number of eHealth related activities.

  • May 19th 2011: The second epSOS Projectathon took place in Pisa (Italy) from April 11th to 15th, 2011. epSOS Participating Nations and companies took advantage of the chance to test the interoperability of their systems.

  • February 28th 2011:The Council of the European Union has approved the European Parliament's amendments on a draft directive aimed at facilitating access to safe and high-quality cross-border healthcare and promoting cooperation on healthcare between member states. Download the Council's press release
  • December 27th 2010:One key milestone within the epSOS project - the 1st Projectathon - was held in Bratislava, Slovakia from 22nd to 25th November, 2010. Its results point to a successful pilot operation start in 2011, beginning with the virtual testing from January 2011. Download press release
  • March 15th 2010: epSOS presents its remarkable project progress at the Annual High-Level eHealth Conference of the European Union in Barcelona, Spain. Download press release
  • November 16th 2009: The Swedish EU-presidency in cooperation with the European Commission organises the 5th EU conference in the area of eGovernment under the title “Teaming up for eUnion” which will be held in Malmö, November 18th to 20th 2009. The focus of the conference lies on eGovernment Services, outcomes will be definitely of high relevance to eHealth.
