Pilot Sites in Sweden
The Swedish pilots will cover all six possible scenarios, offering all types of Patient Summary, ePrescription and eDispensation services provided for by the epSOS project.
Swedish tourists mainly visit the other Nordic countries, Germany, the UK, Spain and Greece. 10,000-15,000 people commute to Denmark and Finland every day.
Acting as Country A, the following health data services will be made available to Swedish citizens:
- eP for the entire country (9.2 million citizens), made available through ‘Apotekens Service AB’.
- PS for approximately half of the population (~ 4 million citizens).
- a small and clearly defined cross-border scenario is proposed for Norrbotten County (a promising pilot site due to strong cross-border mobility between Sweden and Finland), initially for ePrescription, and later also for Patient Summary (15,000 citizens).
Tourists and short term business travellers visiting Sweden are mainly from other Scandinavian countries, as well as from Germany and the UK. In the border regions, commuters arrive from Denmark and Finland. This flow is expected to create 1,000 - 1,500 epSOS health care incidents requiring eP services, and some 500 - 1,000 cases requiring PS services in Sweden.
