Pilot Sites in Greece
Over 6 million tourists, mostly from other EU countries, visit Greece every year, with a peak number throughout the summer period. In the last few years Greece has also been subject to EU citizen relocation, with people moving to Greece as part of their retirement plans.
It was therefore decided to implement only those pilot scenarios in which Greece acts as Country B, i.e. as the receiver of Patient Summary and ePrescription data and the sender of dispensed medication information. Two pilot sites were identified: Athens and Thessaloniki.
In Athens, Patient Summary information will be received at the AEMY Polyclinic, and ePrescription/eDispensation services will be offered at 15 PHARMAXIS pharmacies throughout the city. In Thessaloniki, the AHEPA hospital will be able to receive Patient Summaries.
